Who is behind this
Based in the U.S., the author spent most of their 30s living solo across some of the country most vibrant cities: New York, Austin, Chicago, Miami. This site comes from that experience of walking into a bar alone on a Friday night, navigating dating apps after a long week, and sitting in a cafe in a new city without knowing a single person.
That lived experience is the foundation of everything on this site. Not theory. Not academic research. Direct, first-hand experience documented honestly.
Solo State of Mind has been covering solo life since 2025: dating culture, city guides for singles, the psychology of being single, and the practical stuff nobody else talks about.
